BEIT BOU BROUHIN FAMILY TREE

The family tree shown below is that of Beit Bou Brouhin (Abraham Family Tree).

My grandfather Youssef Slaiman (Joseph Abraham) researched it and drew it up in 1983. It dates back to the beginning of our village.

The tree took years and was a labour of love for him and a cherished piece of our family memorabilia.

Have a look and see if you can locate your family lines.

One day I hope to continue the tree and update it in his memory.

1953

The photo below is the funeral of my grandfather Mansour Coorey who died 4th July 1953 at Campsie NSW.

His wife was Udeesay Coorey, late of Campsie and they had three daughters. Freda , my mother (married Joe Budwee) , Jean (married Fred Tanna deceased) and Martha deceased (married Peter Dalton deceased)

The service was held at St Mels Campsie and the priest officiating was Father Anthony Sehadie (deceased).

Although the photo lacks clarity , most faces can be identified and as you would expect a photo of this vintage ,a high percentage  are now deceased.

The photo typifies an era of community support and just goes to show that some things never change.

Unhown Date

This photo was sent to me by cousin Roy Norman. It was given to him by his father , Charlie ‘Essey’ Norman (deceased) some years ago. I couldn’t make out any faces, however my mother thinks that the priest is Father Yazbeck. I don’t know what vintage that puts it in.

It would be a safe bet that it was taken at Redfern, and involved a medal presentation of sorts.

Maybe some AKA’ites can recognize them or perhaps give a year.
